Shannan is a graduate of West Chester University class of 2015 and holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and completed her dietetic internship with a pediatric emphasis at Nemours Children’s Hospital in 2018. She started her career at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as an outpatient dietitian providing care in a variety of settings including cardiology, general nutrition, GI and food allergy, primary care and finally adolescent medicine where she found her passion for working with children and their families through eating disorder recovery. Shannan joined the Eating Disorder Assessment and Treatment Program in 2020 and since then has worked alongside medical providers and behavioral health clinicians supporting patients and families in treatment for Anorexia Nervosa and ARFID. Shannan also has experience with young children with poor weight gain and picky eating as well as teenagers with PCOS, amenorrhea, or
RED-S. Shannan provides nutrition counseling with a non-diet and “all foods fit” approach, and aligns with Health at Every Size principles.
In her spare time, she enjoys Pilates, reading thriller novels and spending time with her husband and their new baby boy.
