Sports Nutrition

Our sports nutrition services are for anyone who is interested in learning how to properly fuel for physical activity.  We work with athletes of all levels, from those who are just starting to incorporate some physical activity into their routine, to collegiate and professional athletes who have trained for years.

Individual nutrition counseling sessions will include education around the adequate daily intake to meet the increased needs of an athlete as well as specific strategies for fueling before, during, and after a performance.  We also work closely with coaches, physical therapists, personal trainers, and other health professionals to provide comprehensive care for our sports nutrition clients.

Specialty Nutrition

Our specialty nutrition services are designed to provide guidance and support to anyone looking to increase their knowledge of nutrition and/or enhance how they procure, prepare and use food to nourish and fuel their bodies. Sessions will include education around the adequate intake to meet the client’s specific nutrient needs as well as guidance and strategies around meal planning and preparation.  We will also explore how sleep, movement, hydration, and stress play a role in nutrient needs and dietary interventions because we know that nutrition is just one piece of the wellness puzzle.

Medical Nutrition

Our medical nutrition services are available for anyone who has been diagnosed with a medical condition or symptoms of a medical condition or its treatment, that can be improved or alleviated through nutrition interventions. Examples of this include but are not limited to diabetes, autoimmune diseases and treatments, food allergies, cancer treatment, heart disease, PCOS, endocrine conditions, gastrointestinal diseases or disturbances, etc.

We provide comprehensive nutrition education and support while also considering our client’s current lifestyle, support system, past experiences that impact current needs, personal preferences, medication interactions, and other factors that are important in treating the whole person rather than just the disease.

Eating Disorders

These services are for anyone suffering from an eating disorder, disordered eating, obsessive thoughts around food, body image distress, or a desire to recover from chronic dieting.  We treat all eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, OSFED, ARFID, and binge eating. Our interventions and treatments are HAES-informed, weight-inclusive, and evidence-based.  We know that eating disorders can affect everyone regardless of body size, gender, age, ethnicity, race, culture, socioeconomic status, and physical ability and we are aware of and sensitive to the stigmas and stereotypes often associated with eating disorders.

Our dietitians who specialize in treating eating disorders have extensive training and experience and work closely with other care providers (therapists, family doctors, psychiatrists, etc.) to ensure our clients are being treated with an interdisciplinary “team” approach to properly address the complexities of the disease. When necessary or indicated, we incorporate family members, friends and partners into our work to create and maintain as much support as we can around our client’s efforts.  It is well-documented that this comprehensive and inclusive approach to treatment improves outcomes for recovery.

Recovery is difficult, complex, and scary.  Our job is to walk beside our clients and guide, challenge, and encourage them as they work towards healing their relationship with food and body.

Meal Support Groups

We know how challenging meal times can be during eating disorder recovery.  We also know the value of having a supportive eating environment during those challenging meals which is why we now offer weekly virtual meal support groups to individuals in all stages of eating disorder recovery. Led by our registered diet technician, this group is available multiple times per week.  You can attend as many times as you'd like and you can "drop in" at any time during the scheduled hour. We know everyone's meal schedule is different and many people may be joining during their meal breaks at work or school. Our only requirement is that you join the group with an adequate meal ready to eat and that participants agree to adhere to the group's guidelines around supportive meal conversation and behaviors to ensure this group remains a safe place to eat for all in attendance.
