Hi, I’m Alyssa! My journey within the field of nutrition began with earning a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from West Chester University and a Master’s in Health Science from Cedar Crest College, where I also completed my dietetic internship. During my internship, I had the opportunity to complete a concentration in eating disorders right here at Balanced! I enjoyed every moment and knew the all-foods-fit and anti-diet space was the right fit for me. Outside of being a dietitian, I enjoy traveling to new places to explore hiking trails and trying local food. I also love reading, walking my golden retriever, Grizzly, and spending time with my family in the Poconos—kayaking, paddleboarding, and relaxing by the lake.
Areas of Specialty
Since becoming a dietitian, my days are spent working full-time at an eating disorder treatment facility and seeing clients at Balanced Nutrition in the evenings. I have experience supporting both the adolescent and adult populations across various levels of care. I also enjoy supporting clients with general nutrition care, helping them view food as fuel to support their daily activities and overall well-being.
Nutrition Philosophy
When working with me, I focus on providing personalized, inclusive nutrition support that meets you where you are. I enjoy guiding clients through their unique nutrition goals and journeys. My goal is to empower people that numbers don't define health, but by overall well-being and quality of life. In a time where nutrition can feel confusing and overwhelming, my goal is to offer evidence-based support that is simple and approachable. My approach embraces an anti-diet, all-foods-fit, and Health at Every Size perspective.
